Solstice Singing Bowl Soundbath with Mary Kate McGetrick

Sunday, December 18, 3:00 – 4:30

Join us for this one-of-a-kind, deeply relaxing experience. Yoga teacher and professional singer Mary Kate McGetrick leads you through a sound healing journey with guided meditation and restorative yoga poses. Accompanied by the ethereal tones of quartz crystal bowls and sacred chanting, Mary Kate will help you to deeply relax and rejuvenate as we prepare for the Winter Solstice.

The winter solstice falls on Wednesday, December 21, and marks the longest night of the year. Traditionally a time of stillness, renewal and self-reflection, this is the perfect time to pause, connect to yourself and take in the peace of the season.

Absolutely no yoga experience required. Restorative yoga is extremely gentle and passive and appropriate for all bodies.

What are singing bowls?

Singing bowls are metal or crystal bowls that create clear tones by striking and circling them with a mallet. It is thought that the vibration created by these tones can soothe the mind and relax the body.

Mary Kate McGetrick is a Yoga Teacher with 500 hours of training as well as a professional musician and singer. She has performed at venues throughout the area. Mary Kate’s mission as a teacher is to help serve and inspire others to awaken in their own process of self-discovery. Her teaching incorporates the eight branches of yoga, including mindful movement, breath work, and meditation, all which help students to nourish and connect with their sacred home within.
